In the Trenches

I'm a teacher in a large high school in Ontario, Canada. I love my job, but there are also many factors involved in it besides interacting with kids. Many of these factors are profoundly harmful, if not downright antithetical, to teaching and learning. I believe that our job as teachers is to nurture the whole child in development: including nurturing their senses of confidence, independence, curiosity, justice, compassion, concentration, attention, community, and inner peace.
